FAQs

EV charging rebates are incentives that help offset the cost of purchasing and installing EV charging equipment at multifamily properties. Alabama Powers’s make-ready EV charging rebates provide properties served by the utility with funding to assist with EV charging make-ready costs.

Multifamily properties may receive up to $2,000 per EVSE for make-ready costs, capped at a maximum of $120,000 per property. Properties must install at least 4 EVSE, and may install a maximum of 60 EVSE. Make ready costs include behind the meter infrastructure upgrades, up to (but not including) the charging hardware.

An EVSE is a hardwired, high-power Level 2 charging unit. Most multifamily properties benefit from a mix of both EVSE and smart outlets.

Orange has committed over 10,000 chargers across multifamily properties nationwide. We assist you throughout the entire application process, from an eligibility check to the incentive application, and recommend the right charging mix for your property and portfolio.
