EV charging rebates are incentives that help offset the cost of installing EV charging equipment at multifamily properties. Atlantic City Electric’s EV Charging rebates provide properties served by the utility with funding for EVSE make-ready electrical upgrades.

Multifamily properties may receive up to $5,000 per EVSE for make-ready electrical upgrades, capped at 75% of total make-ready costs. Properties located in overburdened communities (as defined by Atlantic City Electric) may receive up to $6,700 per EVSE for make-ready electrical upgrades, capped at 100% of total make-ready costs. The rebate may be applied to a maximum of 10 ports per location, and no portfolio may receive more than 20% of total program funding.

An EVSE is a hardwired, high-power Level 2 charging unit. Most multifamily properties benefit from a mix of both EVSE and smart outlets.
