FAQs
EV charging rebates are incentives that help offset the cost of installing EV charging equipment at multifamily properties. Rhode Island OER’s ChargeRI program provides properties in the state of Rhode Island with funding for EVSE installation.
Multifamily properties with 5 or more units may receive up to $12,000 per EVSE, capped at 90% of eligible project costs (up to $12,600 per EVSE for properties in environmental justice, capped at 95% of eligible project costs). The maximum award per site is $100,000 ($105,000 for properties in environmental justice communities).
An EVSE is a hardwired, high-power Level 2 charging unit. Most multifamily properties benefit from a mix of both EVSE and smart outlets.
