FAQs

EV charging rebates are incentives that help offset the cost of installing EV charging equipment at multifamily properties. Clean Power SF's EV Charge SF program provides properties in San Francisco (or properties served by Hetch Hetchy Power) with funding for Level 1 and Level 2 outlets, EVSEs, and conduit for future chargers.

Market-rate properties may receive up to $2,000 per outlet, $4,500 per EVSE, and $250 for conduit for future installations (maximum award of $100,000 per property). Affordable housing developments may receive up to $2,400 per outlet, $5,400 per EVSE, and $300 for conduit for future installations (maximum award of $120,000 per property). Outlet installations and conduit can be funded up to 100% of project costs; market-rate EVSE installations are capped at 75% of project costs. Incentives are available for code-required charging installations.

An EV outlet is a dedicated Level 1 or Level 2 charging outlet assigned to a resident's parking space, ideal for overnight charging at multifamily properties. An EVSE is a hardwired Level 2 unit better suited for shared or guest parking. Most multifamily properties benefit from a mix of both.

Orange has committed over 10,000 chargers across multifamily properties nationwide. We assist you throughout the entire application process, from an eligibility check to the incentive application, and recommend the right charging mix for your property and portfolio.
