EV charging rebates are incentives that help offset the cost of purchasing and installing EV charging equipment at multifamily properties. El Paso Electric’s EV Charging Installation rebates provide properties served by the utility with funding to lower the installation costs for EVSE and Outlet equipment.
Properties may receive up to $1,500 for Outlet installations, and up to $7,500 for EVSE installations (capped at 50% of total installation costs). Properties located in underserved communities may receive up to $2,100 for Outlet installations, and up to $10,500 for EVSE installations (capped at 70% of total installation costs). This funding may be used in conjunction with El Paso Electric’s EV Charging Equipment and Installation programs.
An EV outlet is a dedicated Level 1 or Level 2 charging outlet assigned to a resident's parking space, ideal for overnight charging at multifamily properties. An EVSE is a hardwired Level 2 unit better suited for shared or guest parking. Most multifamily properties benefit from a mix of both.
