FAQs
EV charging rebates are incentives that help offset the cost of installing EV charging equipment at multifamily properties. SVCE's EV Charging Rebates program provides properties in Santa Clara County with funding for Level 1 and Level 2 outlets, EVSEs, panel upgrades, and prewiring to parking stalls.
Retrofit properties may receive up to $2,500 per outlet and $5,500 per EVSE. New affordable housing developments may receive up to $1,000 per outlet and $2,000 per EVSE. Outlet installations can be funded up to 100% of project costs, with no cap on the number of ports. EVSE installations are capped at a maximum number of 18 ports. Prewiring rebates are capped at 10 parking stalls.
A smart outlet is a dedicated Level 1 or Level 2 charging outlet assigned to a resident's parking space, ideal for overnight charging. An EVSE is a hardwired, higher-powered unit better suited for shared or guest parking. Most multifamily properties benefit from a mix of both.
Orange has committed over 10,000 chargers across multifamily properties nationwide. We assist you throughout the entire application process, from an eligibility check to the incentive application, and recommend the right charging mix for your property and portfolio.
