    FAQs

An EV Ready plan is a property-specific roadmap that outlines the electrical infrastructure, and charging equipment needed to support EV charging at a multifamily property. It typically includes a site assessment, equipment recommendations, and a deployment pathway tailored to the property's size and electrical capacity.

Through the WestLight Energy EV Ready program, incentive amounts vary by property type. Existing properties may receive up to $2,500 per outlet and $4,500 per EVSE. Income-qualified properties may receive up to $3,000 per outlet and $5,500 per EVSE. Outlet installations can be funded up to 100% of project costs, with no cap on the number of ports. EVSE installations are capped at 75% of project costs, up to a maximum rebate of $135,000. Income-qualified properties may receive up to 100% of EVSE project costs.

An EV outlet is a dedicated Level 1 or Level 2 charging outlet assigned to a resident's parking space, ideal for overnight charging at multifamily properties. An EVSE is a hardwired Level 2 unit better suited for shared or guest parking. Most multifamily properties benefit from a mix of both.

Orange has committed over 10,000 chargers across multifamily properties nationwide. We assist you throughout the entire application process, from an eligibility check to the incentive application, and recommend the right charging mix for your property and portfolio.

"Using low-power solutions seems to be the fastest, most affordable, and most scalable solution to get immediate charging access to where people live. So instead of putting one fast charger in, which is the default way, let’s put in 20, and at a much lower cost."
